Survey Description


During the summer of 1980, a soil sampling survey was conducted by the firm Amtec Inc. in the River Reboul area, Quebec.  The area covers 4.5 km2.  A total of 685 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.007 km2.  Sampling was done at 50 m of intervals, spaced at 100 m.  Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Ag, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Zn   atomic absorption (AAS)

 

A second set of analysis was done on approximately 170 samples for Sb, As, Bi and W.

The data are published in Open File MB 86-74, Department of Energy and Resources, 1987.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 22A/6 (Rivière Reboul).  The Rivière Reboul area is situated in the Gaspé region, 40 km northwest of Bonaventure.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°22' and 48°22'54" and longitudes 65°26' and 65°28'20".
