Survey Description


In 1963-1964, a soil, vegetation and stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Ste-Cécile et St-Sébastien Mounts region, Quebec.  The area covers 110 km2.  A total of 825 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.1 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo (modified Ward method).  442 soil samples from horizon A, B and C, and 66 samples (maple leaves) were also collected at an average density of 1 sample per 15 m, and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn and Mo.

The data are published in geological report RG-176, Department of Natural Resources, 1975.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 21E/10 (Lac-Mégantic), /15 (La Guadeloupe). This survey is situated in Frontenac County. It is located about 75 miles south of Québec City and 135 miles east of Montréal and includes the village of Sainte-Cécile-de-Frontenac. It is bounded by latitudes 45°39' and 45°48' and longitudes 70°51' and 71°.
