Survey Description


In July 1986, humus samples were collected near Lac des Iles, northwestern Ontario.  Samples were collected at ~10 m intervals along a line that crosses the northern part of the mineralized (PGE) Roby Zone, approximately 1 km south of the lake.

The data and a detailed description of the study are published on Ontario Geological Survey Map M80800.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a very small part of NTS 52H/04 (Lac des Iles) in the vicinity of the Lac des Iles PGE deposit, northwestern Ontario.  It is bounded to the southeast by Camp Lake.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 91 km north-northwest of Thunder Bay and 100 km west-northwest of Nipigon.
