Survey Description


Approximately 102 samples were collected in the Timmins area, northern Ontario.  No sampling year was given.  The data were released as part of a geological compilation of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Ontario Geological Survey Miscellaneous Release – Data 155.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 42A/5 (Dana Lake), 42A/6 (Timmins) and 42A/11 (Pamour), the Timmins area, northern Ontario.  The towns of Timmins and South Porcupine are located in the northern part of the study area.

  • Covers parts of NTS 42A/10 (Porquis Junction), the Timmins-Matheson area, northern Ontario.  It is located 60 km northeast of Timmins and 8 km northwest of Matheson.
