Description du levé


Deux cent quatre-vingt-deux échantillons de till prélevés en surface et 1100 de till provenant de carottes de foreuses par vibrations ont été recueillis entre 1984 et 1988 dans la région de Black River-Matheson, au nord de Kirkland Lake et à l’est de Timmins, Ontario. Les données sont publiées dans les rapports publics 5749 (échantillonnage en surface) et 5800 (till de forages par vibrations) de la Commission géologique de l'Ontario

Rapport imprimé; listes de données sur disquette (ASCII) diffusés séparément sous forme des MRD-1 (Données hors-série 1).

Quantités analysées:

Dans la fraction <0,063 mm et dans la matrice totale (<2 mm broyé à <0,074 mm) dosage du Au, du As, du Sb, du Cr, du Co, du U et du W par INAA; dosage du Cu, du Pb, du Zn, du Ni, du Mo, du Ag, du Mn, du Cd et du Fe par DCP après extraction au HNO 3-HCl; dosage du Ti, du Zr et du Sr par XRF; dosage du Te par GF-AAS après digestion totale; dosage du Au par essai pyrognostique-DCP après digestion dans HNO 3- eau régale; en outre dosage des principaux oxydes par XRF dans la fraction matrice totale.

Cartes géochimiques disponibles:

Cartes avec symboles proportionnels montrant la dispersion de Au, As, Sb, Cu, Ni, Zn, Co, U et W (RP 5749 de la CGO). Cartes avec symboles proportionnels montrant la dispersion des éléments; profils graphiques en profondeur pour les trous de sonde (RP 5800 de la CGO).

Granulométrie (dans la fraction <2 mm), dosage du carbonate par la méthode de Chittick), concentré de minéraux lourds pour dénombrements ponctuels et analyse géochimique (RP 5749 de la CGO). L'étendue géographique du levé est définie par les polygones suivants:

  • Couvre 32D/12 (Lightning River) et 42A/9 (Matheson) et des parties de 42A/10 (Porquis Junction), 42A/7 (Watabeag River), 42A/8 (Ramore) et 32D/5 (Magusi River) du SNRC dans la région de Black River-Matheson au nord de Kirkland Lake et à l’est de Timmins (Ontario).  Délimité à l’est par la limite Ontario-Québec et à l’ouest par la limite de la ville de Timmins.  Black River coupe la région d’étude en deux.
