Survey Description


Approximately 25 till samples were collected in 1995 in the Canterbury area, southwest New Brunswick.  These new data, as well as data previously published in New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Open File Report 92-5 are all published in New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Map Plates 96-2A, 96-2B and 96-2C.

Quantities Analysed:

<0.063 mm fraction by ICP-AES after aqua regia for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Mn and Ag; by fusion-ICP for Sn; by INAA for Fe, Th, U, W, Au, As, Sb and Co; by cold vapour-AAS for Hg.

Geochem Maps Available:

Map Plates 96-2A, 2B, and 2C are symbol maps showing the distribution of elements analyzed in till.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 21G/14 (Canterbury) in southwest New Brunswick.  The towns of Canterbury and Prince William lie in the western and eastern part of the study area, respectively.
