Survey Description
In 2015, 119 rock samples were collected from the Baie d’Espoir Group (felsic volcanic rocks) and Coy Pond Ophiolitic Complex (ophiolitic rocks) in central Newfoundland. Samples were collected from outcrops and diamond drill core.
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Open File NFLD/3397.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers parts of NTS 12A/08 (Great Burnt Lake), 2D/04 (Twillick Hill) and 2D/05 (Burnt Hill) in central Newfoundland. The northwest part of the study area is located approximately 5 km southeast of the shore of Great Burnt Lake.

Covers a small part of NTS 2D/05 (Burnt Hill) in central Newfoundland. It is located just southeast of Coy Pond and approximately 4.5 km west of Highway 360. Bruce Pond is found within the study area.
