Survey Description


Between June and August 2019, drillcore and outcrop samples were collected on Glover Island and east of Grand Lake, western Newfoundland for lithogeochemical and hyperspectral analyses.  Samples were collected from known gold occurrences as part of a project investigating the geology and mineral potential of the area.

The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Open File 012A/12/1845.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a small part of NTS 12A/12 (Little Grand Lake) in western Newfoundland.  It is located on the southern part of Glover Island in Grand Lake.  The study area is located approximately 25 km southeast from the city of Corner Brook.

  • Covers a very small part of NTS 12A/12 (Little Grand Lake) in western Newfoundland. It is located between Grand Lake and Little Grand Lake, approximately 35 km south-southeast of the city of Corner Brook.
