The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers parts of NTS 2C/12 (Eastport), 2C/13 (St. Brendan’s) and 2D/09 (Glovertown) in east central Newfoundland. It extends from Willis Island in the east to the Trans-Canada Highway in the west. It is bounded to the south by Terra Nova National Park.

Covers small parts of NTS 2C/05 (Sweet Bay) and 2D/08 (Port Blandford) in east central Newfoundland. The study area is located on both sides of the western end of Clode Sound and extends from Northwest Pond in the west to Goose Bay (arm of Clode Sound) in the east.

Covers a small part of NTS 2D/01 (Tug Pond) in east central Newfoundland. It is located approximately 6 km west of the town of Clarenville and about halfway between Shoal Harbour Pond and Goose Pond.

Covers a small part of NTS 1N/12 (Dildo) on the Isthmus of Avalon, southeast Newfoundland. It is located just west of the Trans-Canada Highway and approximately 2 km east of Big Gull Pond.
