Survey Description


In 2012 and 2014, rock samples were collected from the Long Lake Group, central Newfoundland.  Approximately 91 samples were collected from outcrops and 161 samples from 21 diamond drill holes.

The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File 012A/1580.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 12A/06 (Victoria Lake) and 12A/10 (Lake Ambrose) and a very small part of 12A/11 (Star Lake; 2 samples) in the area of Victoria Lake, central Newfoundland.  The study area is located just north of Victoria Lake and is approximately 6  km south of Red Indian Lake.  Long Lake is found in the southern part of the study area.
