Survey Description
In 2009 and 2010, 60 rock samples were collected in the vicinity of the Viking gold deposit, in the White Bay area, western Newfoundland, as part of a Master’s of Science thesis (M. Minnett, Memorial University).
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File 012H/11/2107.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers part of NTS 12H/15 (Jackson’s Arm) and small parts of 12H/10 (Hampden) and 12H/11 (Silver Mountain) in the vicinity of the Viking gold deposit, in the White Bay area, western Newfoundland. The community of Pollards Point lies just east of the study area.
