Survey Description
In 1985, 346 representative samples of primarily peralkaline granite were collected in northeastern Labrador from the Flowers River Igneous Suite. Fist-sized samples that were as unweathered as possible were collected with a 5-lb sledgehammer.
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Open File 013N/0139.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 13N/11 (untitled) and 13N/14 (Sango Bay) and parts of NTS 13N/10 (Big Bay), 13N/12 (untitled), 13N/13 (untitled) and 13N/15 (Davis Inlet) in northeastern Labrador. The centre of the study area is located approximately 78 km northwest of the community of Hopedale. It is partly bounded to the northeast by Sango Bay.
