Survey Description
In the summer of 2018, surficial mapping and till sampling were carried out on the northern tip of the Great Northern Peninsula, Newfoundland.
At each site, 2 to 3 kg of C- horizon material (or B/C at a few sites) were collected for geochemical analysis. A 10-15 kg sample was also collected at each site for heavy mineral processing, if sufficient material was available.
In the summer of 2019, follow-up work was carried out in the St. Julien’s map sheet (2M/04).
The study is described in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources Current Research Report 19-1 (p. 211-225) and NL Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Current Research Report 20-1 (p. 71-86).
