Survey Description
In 2017, till samples were collected in the Twillingate and Comfort Cove map areas, northeastern Newfoundland.
In total, 49 samples were collected and most of the samples were taken from thin (<0.5 m) B, B/C and C horizon soils overlying bedrock.
The data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Open File 002E/1989.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers parts of NTS 2E/07 (Comfort Cove) and 2E/10 (Twillingate) in northeastern Newfoundland. It is bounded to the northeast by Dog Bay. It is located just west of the town of Horwood, and includes the towns of Hillgrade, Cottlesville and Boyd’s Cove. It also includes part of New World Island.

Covers a very small part of NTS 2E/10 (Twillingate; 2 samples) on North and South Twillingate islands, northeastern Newfoundland. It is bounded to the north by Notre Dame Bay and extends from Crow Head in the northwest to Durrell in the southeast.
