Survey Description
In 2017 and 2018, till samples were collected in the Cormack map sheet, northwestern Newfoundland.
In total, 69 B-, C- or BC- horizon till samples were collected. Six of the samples collected in 2018 were to follow up high Ni and U results from the 2017 sampling. At each site, a 2-3 kg sample was collected for geochemistry and a sample weighing 10-15 kg was collected for heavy mineral processing.
The geochemical data are published in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Industry, Energy and Technology Open File 12H/06/2332.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers part of NTS 12H/06 (Cormack) in northwestern Newfoundland. It is located just northwest of Sandy Lake. The centre of the study area is located approximately 32 km northeast of the town of Deer Lake. Cormack Road crosses most of the study area.
