Survey Description

In August 2020, Quaternary geology fieldwork, including till sampling was conducted over a portion of the buried Fox River greenstone belt in northeastern Manitoba.  A total of 318 field sites were visited.

Eighty-nine 2 kg till samples were collected for geochemistry and clast-lithologyfrom the C-horizon.  An additional 59 till samples (weighing 11.4 L each) were collected for kimberlite-indicator-mineral analysis.

A summary of the work can be found in Manitoba Geological Survey Report of Activities 2020.
