Survey Description


Quaternary geology fieldwork including till sampling was conducted for 10 days in July 2020 along East Side Road between the communities of Manigotagan and Berens River in southeastern Manitoba. A total of 93 field sites were visited.

An additional six till samples (weighing 22.7 L each) were collected for heavy mineral analysis.

At this time (Nov. 2020), these samples have not been submitted for analysis but will be archived for future consideration.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 62P (Hecla) and parts of 63A/2 (Catfish Lake) and 63A/7 (Seventeen Mile Lake) in southeastern Manitoba.  It is located along East Side Road between the communities of Manigotagan and Berens River.  It is bounded to the west by the southern part of Lake Winnipeg.
