Survey Description
In September 2019, till sampling was carried out in the Machichi-Kettle rivers area, far northeastern Manitoba. Till samples were collected from exposed river sections, at 2 m intervals where till was encountered. A total of 121 samples weighing 2-3 kg were collected. An additional 11.4 L till sample was collected at 63 of the till sites for KIM analysis.
An additional 37 till samples were collectecd in 2020, and 13 in 2021.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers small parts of NTS 54B (Kaskattama River) and 54C (Hayes River) in far northeastern Manitoba. The centre of the study area is located approximately 30 km south of the western coast of Hudson Bay between the Mistikokan and Hayes rivers..

Covers part of NTS 54B (Kaskattama River) in far northeastern Manitoba. It is located along the Kaskattama River, approximately 12 km from where the river enters Hudson Bay.

Covers a small part of NTS 54A (Black Duck River) in far northeastern Manitoba. It covers parts of the Black Duck and Kettle rivers, approximately 30 km from the western coast of Hudson Bay.

Covers small parts of NTS 54B (Kaskattama River) and 54C (Hayes River) in far northeastern Manitoba. It is located along the Machichi River, approximately 120 km inland from the western coast of Hudson Bay.

Covers a very small part of NTS 54C (Hayes River) in far northeastern Manitoba. It is located along the Nelson River, close to where it enters Hudson Bay.
