Survey Description
In 2016, regional till samples were collected in southern Manitoba in the Pilot Mound and Morden map sheets. In total, 90 samples of ~2 kg each were collected with a shovel or extendable Dutch auger from the B/C or C soil horizon in hand-dug pits/auger holes or from naturally occuring sediment exposures.
A summary of the work is found in Manitoba Geological Survey Report of Activities 2016, p. 203-211.
The data are published in Manitoba Geological Survey Data Repository Item DRI2019002.
The data are also part of a compilation in Manitoba Natural Resources and Northern Development GeoFile 2-2022 (supersedes OF2020-3).

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 62G/01 (Morden) and 62G/02 (Pilot Mound) and a very small part of 62G/07 (Somerset; 2 samples) in southern Manitoba. It is bounded to the south by the Manitoba-North Dakota border. Pembina River runs northwest-southeast through the study area. The towns of Pilot Mound, Morden and Manitou are found within the study area.
