Survey Description

In 2015, 61 till samples weighing ~2 kg each were collected in the west half of the Arden map sheet (62J/6) at approximately 1 sample per 4 km2.  Nineteen of the samples were collected from exposures of Quaternary sediments and 42 from surficial stations.  The surface till samples were collected between 25 and 130 cm depth with a shovel or Dutch auger from the B/C or C soil horizon.

At 20 sites, an additional 22.7 L of till was collected for processing of kimberlite indicator minerals.

The data are published in Manitoba Geological Survey Open File OF 2019-1.

These data are also part of two compilations in Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development open files OF2020-2 and OF2020-3.  GeoFile 2-2022 supersedes OF2020-3.
