Survey Description


Till samples were collected around Iskwasum Lake and Loucks Lake in 1995, as part of a larger study, the NATMAP Shield Margin project, a federal/provincial program initiated by the Geological Survey of Canada.

Field site and sample descriptions have been lost.  The total carbonate data were released as part of a compilation, GSC Open File 3277.

These legacy data by published in their entirety in Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development Data Repository Item DRI2020017 and are part of compilation OF2020-2.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 63K/10 (Iskwasum Lake) in west central Manitoba.  The study area encompasses Iskwasum and Loucks lakes.  It is located just north of Highways 39 and approximately 63 km west-southwest from the city of Flin Flon.
