Survey Description


In 1984, sampling was carried out around the Nokomis gold deposit situated on the southeast side of Nokomis Lake, west-central Manitoba.  A total of 67 till and beach sediment samples were collected from 56 holes.  In 1985, 54 more till samples were collected from hand dug pits.

The raw data have not been published.  A summary of the work can be found in Manitoba Energy and Mines Report of Activities, 1984 and 1985.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 63N/2 (Batty Lake), on the east shore of Nokomis Lake, west-central Manitoba.  It is located approximately 58 km northwest of the town of Snow Lake and 16 km southeast of the community of Cold Lake.

  • Covers part of NTS 63N/4 (Duval Lake), in the Kississing River area, west-central Manitoba.  It is located approximately 32 km northeast of Flin Flon and 16 km east of the SK-MB border.  The southern shore of Duval Lake is located approximately 1.3 km from the northern edge of the study area.
