OPEN FILE 868

Regional stream sediment and water geochemistry of the Nahanni Map area (NTS 105I), Yukon and Northwest Territories (National Geochemical Reconnaissance Map NGR 51-1981) by W.D. Goodfellow          This Open File comprises geochemical results for stream sediment and water samples collected at an average density of one smaple per 12 km 2 over aproximately 11 830 km 2. Stream sediments were determined for Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, Mo, Ba, V, W, U, F, As, Hg, Sb, Cd, P 2O 5, and L.O.I. (loss on ignition); stream waters were determined for U, F, pH, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cl, Ca, Mg, Na, K, NO 3, PO 4, SO 4 and alkalinity.

The Open File consists of 25 1:250 000 scale geochemical maps and one sample location base map including bedrock geology, drainage and major mineral occurrences and deposits. The following elements or ions are not released in map form: L.O.I. in stream sediments, Mn, Fe, Cl, Ca, Mg, Na, K, NO 3, and PO 4 in stream water. In addition, an appendix comprising analytical and sampling procedures, tabulated field observation and analytical results, and statistical compilations accompany this Open File.

This file will be placed on Open File for inspection from 1300 h EDT August 3, 1982 (and equivalent local times) at all Geological Survey of Canada libraries; and at the office of Regional Geologist, Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (DIAND), 200 Range Road, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Y1A 3V1 and Box 1500, Bellanca Building, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, X1A 2R3.
