Copies for viewing and a limited number for sale will also be available (on the release date only) at the Ministry offices in Vancouver (800 Hornby Street), and in Merritt (Grasslands Hotel).

The price for each NTS map area is $15.00.

The geochemical survey of these three map areas was planned and managed by the Geological Branch, Mineral Resources Division. Contracts for sample collection, preparation, and analysis were let, supervised, and monitored by the Geological Branch while technical assistance and data processing of analytical results were provided by the Resource Geochemistry Subdivision, Geological Survey of Canada.

Stream sediment and water samples were collected from 2730 sites in the three areas for an average sample site density of one sample per 17.3 km 2. Stream sediments were analyzed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, Mo, W, Hg, U, As, and Sb. Stream waters were analyzed for U, F, and pH.

For each of the map areas (NTS 92H, 92I and 92J) the release will consist of the following data package:

(a)      Sample location map (scale 1:250 000).

(b)      Text of field observations, analytical data, and sumamry statistics.

(c)      Mineral Inventory map.

NOTE that geochemical maps showing values for the various elements will not be available.

Shortly after the release date field observations and analytical data in the text will be available on widely compatible magnetic tape in digital form at the user's expense ($65.00) from the Geological Branch, Mineral Resources Division, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Room 418, Douglas Building, Victoria, British Columbia, V8V 1X4.
