OPEN FILES 514, 515 AND 517
National geochemical reconnaissance releases NGR25-1977, 26-1977 and 28-1977; Regional stream sediment and water geochemical reconnaissance data, Southeastern British Columbia (NTS 82F and K), Northwestern British Columbia (NTS 104N)
These files were originally announced in the Supplementary May, 1978 Circular and the southern data were released on June 8 and the northern data on June 15, 1978.
The revisions to these files relate to the addition of tin and tungsten determinations provided by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. The stream sediment samples analyzed were collected in 1977 under the Canada-British Columbia Agreement on a Uranium Reconnaissance Program.
Tin and tungsten data are available for Open Files 514 and 515, NTS 82F and K respectively and tin is available for Open File 517, NTS 104N. The new data are available in the form of a text of field observations, and analytical and statistical data. The sample location maps were available in the original release together with other stream sediment and water data.
The revised files will be placed on Open File for inspection September 17, 1977 from 1:00 p.m. EDT (and equivalent local times) at all Geological Survey libraries and at the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario Geological Survey, Mines Library, 8th Floor, 77 Grenville Street, Toronto, Ontario.
There will be a simultaneous open file release by the British Columbia Department of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources at Room 418, Douglas Building, Victoria; Gold Commissioner's Office, Vancouver; and the Resident Geologist's Office in Nelson, B.C. Revised text copies will be available for sale from these locations.
Revised text copies and/or the original maps can also be obtained at the user's expense from Campbell Reproductions, 880 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 6K7. The field observations and analytical data including the new data are also available in digital form at the user's expense from the Director, Computer Science Centre, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, 588 Booth Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A OE8.
