Airborne Radioactivity Maps and Profiles
Airborne Radioactivity Maps – Elliot Lake, Ontario
Radioactivity data obtained with the Geological Suvey of Canada high sensitivity airborne gamma-ray spectrometer system are being released for a 50 sq. km area centred on the town of Elliot lake, Ontario. This detailed survey was flown to June 1977 with a mean line spacing of 122 m. Results are presented as contour maps at a scale of 1:13 333 showing total count, potassium, equivalent uranium, and equivalent thorium concentrations, and eU/eTh, eU/K, and eTh/K ratios, superimposed on a semi-controlled photomosaic base. This survey was flown at the request of the Atomic Energy Control Board.
The release will be available for inspection from 1:00 p.m. E.S.T., December 21, 1977 (and equivalent local times) at the libraries of the Geological Suvey of Canada and the Public Service Centre, Ministry of Natural Resources, Room 6404, Whitney Block, Queen’s Park, Toronto, Ontario.
