National Geochemical Reconnaissance Releases NGR 9-76, 10-76 and 11-76, Regional lake sediment geochemical reconnaissance data, southern district of Keewatin, N.W.T. (NTS 65A, B and C)

          This file relates to data acquired through the Federal Uranium Reconnaissance Program by the Geological Survey of Canada. The contracts for field work, sample preparation and sample analysis were let, supervised and monitored by the Geochemistry Section, Geological Survey of Canada.

          The survey covers some 14,000 sq. miles at an average sample density of 1 sample per 5 sq. miles. Samples were analysed for 12 elements (Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, U, Mo, As and Hg) and loss-on-ignition to estimate organic carbon content.

          The file consists of 26 geochemical maps, the area being divided into 2 sheets, 2 sample location maps and lists of the field and analytical data.

          The field will be placed on Open File for inspection from 1:00 pm EDT, Wednesday, June 29, 1977 (and equivalent local times) at the libraries of the Geological Survey of Canada and also at the office of the Resident Geologist, Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, Bellanca Building, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and at the Public Service Centre, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Whitney Block, Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario.

          A limited supply of white prints will be available for sale through the Regional Geologist's office, Yellowknife, at the user's expense. Copies of material may also be obtained at the user's expense by application to Campbell Quickprint, 880 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 6K7. The field observations and analytical data from which the material was prepared are also available in digital form at the user's expense.
