National Geochemical Reconnaissance releases NGR 3-76 and 4-76, Regional lake sediment geochemical reconnaissance data, northeastern Manitoba (NTS 64I, 54L W½ and 64P, 54 M W½)

These files relate to data acquired under the Federal-Provincial Uranium Reconnaissance Program, the provincial part being financed through the Canada-Manitoba Subsidiary Agreement on Mineral Exploration and Development.

The survey covers some 13,700 sq. miles at an average sample density of 1 sample per 5 sq. miles. Samples were analyzed for 12 elements (Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, U, Mo, As and Hg) and loss-on-ignition to estimate organic carbon content.

The files consist of 26 geochemical maps, the area being divided into 2 sheets, 2 sample location maps and lists of the field and analytical data.

A limited supply of white prints will be available for sale at the Manitoba Mining Recorder's offices at the user's expense.
