Airborne Gamma-Ray Spectrometry Data, Ontario

Reconnaissance airborne gamma-ray spectrometry data, with flight line spacing of 5 km, were obtained by the GSC in the Ignace (NTS 62G, O.F. 329) and Sioux Lookout (NTS 52J, O.F. 330) areas of Ontario. For each map sheet, results are presented as contour maps, at a scale of 1:250 000, showing total count, potassium, equivalent uranium and equivalent thorium concentrations, and eU/eTh, eU/K and eTh/K ratios; and as profiles of the seven parameters for each of the flight lines, also at a scale of 1:250 000.

The maps and profiles will be placed on Open File for inspection from 1:00 p.m. E.D.T. June 1, 1976 (and equivalent local times) at the libraries of the Geological Suvey of Canada in Ottawa, Vancouver, and Calgary, and also at the Ontario Mining Recorders’ offices in Kenora, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Thunder Bay, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Sudbury and Toronto.

White prints will be available for sale at Ontario Mining Recorders’ offices at the user’s expense. Microfiche copies of the maps and profiles will be available at a later date at the GSC offices.
