Federal-Saskatchewan Reconnaissance Airborne Radioactivity Profiles

The results of a cooperative project between the Department of Northern Saskatchewan of the Saskatchewan government and the Geological Suvey of Canada are being placed on Open File and will be available for inspection from 12:00 p.m. E.S.T., November 8, 1973 at the libraries of the Geological Suvey of Canada, 601 Booth Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0E8; Institute of Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology, 3303-33 rd Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2L 2A7, and the British Columbia Office, 6 th Floor, Sun Bldg., 100 West Pender Street, Vancouver 3, British Columbia.

A simultaneous release t the equivalent local times will be made by the Saskatchewan Department of Mineral Resources, Government Administration Building, Regina, Saskatchewan and the Department of Northern Saskatchewan, La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Copies of the set of profiles and maps will be available from the Regina and La Ronge offices at user’s expense. The results comprise:

Profiles showing integral count, uranium, thorium, potassium and U/TH, U/K and TH/K ratios plotted at a scale of 1:250,000 for sixteen east-west flight lines at 50 kilometre line spacing, between 53ºN and 60ºN over northern Saskatchwan.

Seven maps at a scale of 1:1,000,000 covering the complete survey area showing profiles for each of the radioactivity parameters plotted along the flight lines.
