Airborne Gamma Ray Spectrometric Maps and Profiles – Nova Scotia

Airborne survey data obtained with the Geological Survey of Canada gamma ray spectrometer system in 1981, over eight 1:50 000 NTS map sheets in Nova Scotia are being released as Geophysical Series Map.

The airborne data compiled at 1:50 000 scale and reproduced in microform are presented as:

contour maps of the total count, potassium, equivalent uranium and equivalent thorium concentrations and eU/eTh, eU/K and eTh/K ratios; and

stacked profiles of the seven radiometric parameters listed above and the uncorrected total magnetic field strength for each of the flight lines which are located at 1 km spacing.

This work has been carried out as a contribution to the Canada-Nova Scotia Co-operative Mineral Agreement, 1981-1984.

Microform copies of these maps and profiles will be available for inspection from July 21, 1982 at 1300 h E.D.T. (and equivalent local times) at all Geological Survey libraries, at the Nova Scotia Department of Mines and Energy, 2 ^nd Floor, 1690 Hollis Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 2X1, and at the Ontario Geological Survey, Mines Library, 8 ^th Floor, 77 Grenville Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5S 1B3.

Microform copies will be available for purchase from the Sales Offices of the Geological Survey in Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa and Nova Scotia Department of Mines and Energy. White print copies at 1:50 000 scale may also be purchased from Terra Surveys Limited, 2060 Walkley Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 3P5.
