Timmins-Smoky Falls drilling project, 1987-1988

Project Description

The primary objective of this project is to link the Quaternary stratigraphy of the area north of Timmins, Ontario with that established from abundant natural exposures in the Moose River drainage basin.  Deep continuous coring of unconsolidated sediments was carried out along two north-south transects to construct this subsurface link.

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2278.
