Hopetown, Ontario vegetation and till survey, 1978-1980
Project Description
Vegetation and till samples were collected near Hopetown, Ontario in 1978, 1979 and 1980. Biogeochemistry may be a useful adjunct to drift prospecting because it offers advantages over conventional geochemical techniques: some species may be sampled even in winter and ease of sampling means that large areas can be sampled quickly. This project was designed to map a small dispersal train and to investigate the degree to which the chemistry of various types of vegetation reflects the geochemistry of the underlying till. The study is described in Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, v.19.
