Northwestern Manitoba till sampling survey, 1980

Project Description

In order to provide information to extend the usefulness of regional lake sediment and airborne radiometric surveys carried out in the area in 1975, geochemical follow-up investigations were carried out in northwestern Manitoba in the Whiskey Jack Lake area, 1980.  The purpose of the glacial drift sampling was to determine the Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Ni and Ag regional background values and to locate anomalous drift and to determine provenance of trace elements present in till by studying glacial dispersal of garnets.  The data are published in GSC Current Research Paper 81-01A.
