Project Description

RGS lake sediment and water surveys were carried out in the Interior Plateau region of British Columbia in 1993 and 1995.  The 1993 survey involved collection of samples from two areas: Fawnie and Ootsa.  The purpose of the water sampling differed between the two survey areas.  Fawnie area waters were sampled as a pilot study to determine the usefulness of regional multi-element lake water geochemistry.  Lake waters from the Ootsa area were collected for the standard RGS analytical suite (pH, uranium, fluoride, sulphate) only.  The data are published in BC Open File (NTS 93F/2, 3; parts of NTS 93F/6, 11, 12, 13, 14).  Data from the 1995 survey are published in BC Open File 1996-15/GSC Open File 3305 (NTS 93K/9, 10, 15, 16).
