East central Saskatchewan till sampling survey carried out in 1985

Project Description

Till samples were collected in 1985 in the Waddy Lake area of the La Ronge Gold Belt, east central Saskatchewan.  The area was chosen because of the presence of known gold deposits and showings.  The object of the project was to document type, distribution and stratigraphy of deposits; the source of materials; and the direction and distance of transport.  This information can be used to determine the most useful sampling media and the most effective techniques for drift prospecting in the area.  The data are published in Saskatchewan Research Council Report R-842-1-E-86.

Some of its funding comes from government grants, but it generates the balance from selling products and services.
