Northeast Saskatchewan till survey, 1992
Project Description
A multidisciplinary project was initiated in the Peter Lake Domain, northeast Saskatchewan. The primary objectives of the Quaternary component are: 1) to characterize the till deposits; 2) to determine optimum sample size and fraction; and, 3) to determine if till composition reflects the bedrock. This will aid in the evaluation of drift prospecting applications for various minerals, and potentially outline new areas of economic interest. Thirty-eight samples collected from the Peter Lake Domain by Schreiner in 1976 were also used in this study. A summary of the work can be found in Saskatchewan Geological Survey Summary of Investigations 1992, Miscellaneous Report 92-4.

Project Funding
The Saskatchewan Research Council was established in 1947 by the Government of Saskatchewan to advance the development of physical sciences in the province. SRC is a provincial treasury board crown corporation conducting research and business on behalf of the provincial government and private industry. It focuses on applied research and development projects that generate profit. Some of its funding comes from government grants, but it generates the balance from selling products and services.
