Project Description
Located in the far northeast corner of Saskatchewan, this under-explored area was found to contain a number of unrecorded mineral occurrences. The area has the potential to contain: 1) VMS deposits in the Archean Ennadai Group; 2) gold mineralization associated with the sulphide and silicate facies iron formation; 3) gold associated with pyretic quartz vein systems 4) skarn-type mineralization developed in Hurwitz Group carbonate rocks; 5) rare earth elements and rare metals associated with late granite intrusions. The 2001 field component was undertaken by the Saskatchewan Energy and Mines (now Saskatchewan Economy) in NTS 64M-NW and the data can be found in Saskatchewan Economy, Data File DF 21.
The 2002 field component was undertaken by the Saskatchewan Energy and Mines (now Saskatchewan Economy) in NTS 64M-NE and a web release of the data can be found Saskatchewan Economy, Data File DF 25.
