Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Open File 776 / British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (BCMEMPR) Regional Geochemical Survey (RGS) 5 presented analytical and statistical data for 14 elements in stream sediments from 1,226 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 12.4 km². Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites were also included in this report.

In 1990, under the BCMEMPR RGS Archive Program, the samples collected in 1980 were analyzed by Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA). These new data for gold and 25 other elements, along with original survey results, were published in 1999 as BCMEMPR RGS 50.

The original reconnaissance survey of the Quesnel Lake, British Columbia map sheet (NTS 93A) was managed and funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources as part of the Regional Geochemical Survey Program. Data management was provided by the Geological Survey of Canada.

The reanalysis program was funded in part by the Canada - British Columbia Mineral Development Agreement (1985 - 1990).

The reanalysis program was managed by the Geological Survey Branch staff of the MEMPR.

P.F. Matysek and W. Jackaman coordinated the operational activities of contract and MEMPR staff.
