Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Open File 1001 / British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (BCMEMPR) Regional Geochemical Survey (RGS) 11 presented analytical and statistical data for 14 elements in stream sediments from 1,061 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 13.3 km². Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites were also included in this report.

In 1990, under the BCMEMPR RGS Archive Program, the samples collected in 1983 were analyzed by Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA). These new data for gold and 25 other elements, along with original survey results, were published in 1998 as BCMEMPR RGS 49.

The reconnaissance survey of the Manson River, British Columbia map sheet (NTS 93N) was undertaken by the Geological Survey of Canada in conjunction with the British Columbia Ministry of Energy Mines and Petroleum Resources under the Joint Canada - British Columbia Project.

E.H.W. Hornbrook directed the Geological Survey of Canada activities.

W.J. McMillan directed the B.C. Ministry of Energy Mines and Petroleum Resources activities.

The RGS Archive Project was funded by the BCMEMPR and by the Canada - British Columbia Mineral Development Agreement (1985 - 1990).

The reanalysis program was managed by the Geological Survey Branch staff of the MEMPR.

P.F. Matysek and W. Jackaman coordinated the operational activities of contract and MEMPR staff.
