The original regional stream survey for north central Yukon (NTS 106E, 106L, 116H, 116I) was conducted during the summer of 1976.

Open File 420, published in 1977, presented analytical data for 12 elements in stream sediments. Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites were included in this report. For complete field observations refer to G.S.C. Paper 74 - 52.

New data, released by the Yukon Territorial Government in 2002, presents INAA data for gold and 25 other elements obtained by re-analyzing stream sediments from 642 sites, collected at average density of one sample per 11.6 km². Original analytical data for 12 elements in sediments, and uranium, fluoride, and pH values in concomitant waters are also included with these data.

The original reconnaissance surveys were undertaken by the Geological Survey of Canada under the terms of the Canada - Yukon Agreement on a Federal Uranium Reconnaissance Program.

The Yukon Territorial Government, under the Yukon Geology Program, provided financial support for the reanalysis of 1976 samples. The Geological Survey of Canada, Mineral Resources Division, provided financial and logistical support.

P.W.B. Friske (GSC) directed the reanalysis program, coordinating the activities of contract and Geological Survey of Canada staff in 1995.
