Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Open File 866 / British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (BCMEMPR) Regional Geochemical Survey (RGS) 8 presented analytical and statistical data for 14 elements in stream sediments from 572 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 27.6 km². Uranium, fluoride, and pH values in waters from these sites were also included in this report.

In 1990, under the BCMEMPR RGS Archive Program, the samples collected in 1981 were analyzed by Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA). These new data for gold and 25 other elements, along with original survey results, were published in 1994 as GSC OF 2666 / BCMEMPR RGS 40.

The original reconnaissance survey of the Ashcroft, British Columbia map sheet (NTS 92I) was managed and funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources as part of the Regional Geochemical Survey Program. Data management was provided by the Geological Survey of Canada.

The reanalysis program was funded in part by the Canada - British Columbia Mineral Development Agreement (1985 - 1990).

The reanalysis program was managed by the Geological Survey Branch staff of the MEMPR.

P.F. Matysek and W. Jackaman coordinated the operational activities of contract and MEMPR staff.
