The regional stream survey for central Yukon (NTS 116A and 116H South) was conducted during the summers of 1976 and 1977.
This report presents analytical and statistical data for gold and 25 other elements obtained by re-analyzing stream sediments from 1 218 sites, collected at an average density of one sample per 13 km². Original analytical data selected from Open File 519 (published 1978) for 13 elements in sediments, and uranium, fluoride, and pH values in concomitant waters are also included in this report.

The original reconnaissance surveys were conducted by the Geological Survey of Canada under the Federal Uranium Reconnaissance Program. Funds for the determination of mercury were provided by Fisheries and Environment Canada. The reanalysis program was undertaken under the Canada - Yukon Economic Program (1989-1990).

Sediments collected in 1977 (Open File 519) were analyzed for Hg in addition to 12 other elements.
Stokes Exploration Management Co., Vancouver, BC provided a cook and subcontracted for helicopter services in 1977.
Data for NTS map sheets 116A (northern half) and the most of the southern half of 116H appearing in Open Files 418 and 419 were republished in Open File 519 (released in 1978) and, with reanalysis data, Open File 2176 (released in 1990).
