The regional stream surveys for east central Yukon (NTS 106D and parts of 106C, 106E and 106F) were conducted during the summers of 1976 and 1977.
This report, published in 1990, presents new data for gold and 25 other elements obtained by re-analyzing stream sediments from 2 058 sites, collected at average density of one sample per 11.6 km². Original analytical data selected from Open File 419 (published in 1977) and Open File 518 (published 1978) for 12 or 13 elements in sediments, and uranium, fluoride, and pH values in concomitant waters are also included in this report.

The original reconnaissance surveys were carried out by the Geological Survey of Canada under the Federal Uranium Reconnaissance Program. Funds for the determination of mercury (Open File 518) were provided by Fisheries and Environment Canada. The reanalysis program was undertaken under the Canada - Yukon Economic Programming Agreement (1989-1990).

This open file contains data for samples collected in 1964 from north of the Keno Hill area on NTS map sheet 106D. These sites have been given a year of collection of 1977 and a party number of 9.
Sediments collected in 1977 (Open File 518) were analyzed for Hg in addition to 12 other elements.
Stokes Exploration Management Co., Vancouver, BC provided a cook and subcontracted for helicopter services in 1977.
Data for NTS map sheets 106D (northern half) and the southern half of 106E appearing in Open File 419 were republished in Open File 518 (released in 1978) and, with reanalysis data, Open File 2175 (released in 1990). Data for 1:50,000 NTS map sheets 106E/10, 106E/11, 106E/14 and 106E/15 appear only in Open File 419.
