The regional lake sediment and water survey for the Thunder Bay area, northern Ontario (NTS 52A and south half of 52H) was conducted during the summer of 1977.

This report presents analytical and statistical data for 13 variables in lake sediments and three variables (U, F, pH) in lake waters from 922 sample sites, collected at an average density of one sample per19.6 km².

The reconnaissance survey was undertaken by the Geological Survey of Canada in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources under the terms of the Canada - Ontario Agreement on a Uranium Reconnaissance Program.

Fisheries and Environment Canada provided funds for the determination of mercury.

E.H.W. Hornbrook directed the Geological Survey of Canada activities.
