Laboratory Description


CANMET (Canadian Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology) originated in 1975, from the renaming of the Mines Branch of the federal Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR).  The analytical laboratories were located at 555 Booth Street, Ottawa.

CANMET was subsequently re-organised into separate branches (CanmetENERGY, CanmetMATERIALS, CanmetMINING).
