Melilite refers to a group of sorosilicate minerals, with the general formula A2B(T2O7). The most important endmembers are gehlenite, Ca2Al[AlSiO7] and åkermanite, Ca2Mg(Si2O7). A generalized formula for common melilite is (Ca,Na)2(Al,Mg,Fe2+)[(Al,Si)SiO7].
