Survey Description

A total of 465 till samples were collected in southeastern Manitoba over the drift-covered rocks of the Wabigoon Belt in 1991 and 1992.  297 samples were from drill holes, 142 from surface sites and 26 from river sections.  A total of 195 sand samples were also taken from the drill core.  The data are published in GSC Open File 2750.

The data are also part of three compilations in Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development open files OF2020-2, OF2020-3 and OF2020-6.

Data Description:

Report and data on diskette.

Quantities Analysed:

<0.063mm fraction of till matrix by INAA for 35 elements and by nitric-aqua-regia-ICP for 32 elements; XRF analyses of bedrock from drill holes.

Geochem Maps Available:

None.

Other Analyses:

<0.063 mm carbonate (Chittick); pebble lithology; gold grain counts; kimberlite indicator mineral frequency and chemistry; geochemical analyses of heavy mineral concentrates (INAA and nitric-aqua-regia-ICP).
