Survey Description
Between September 11 th and 12 th, 2003, 26 glacial till samples were collected (plus 1 spike) from the Banning Lake permits of Victoria Island, west-central Nunavut. The permits are located 180 km west of Cambridge Bay within NTS map sheet 77C/2. The samples were collected by Blue Ground Consulting on behalf of Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (previously Major General Resources Ltd.). The aim of the two-day glacial till sampling program was to get a sense for the kimberlite potential of the permits area, since no exploration work had ever been done in the area.
No KIMs were found in the heavy mineral concentrate, as indicated in Nunavut Assessment Report 084632.
