Survey Description
In the summer field seasons of 1996 and 1997, Caledonia Mining Corporation collected a total of 99 and 118 till samples, respectively on the East Hunter Claims block, just east of Kikerk Lake in SW Nunavut. The claims are situated some 60 km ESE of Kugluktuk and are bounded by the borders of NTS map sheets 86/P 2 and 7.
This diamond exploration program was designed to follow up diamond exploration initiatives conducted on the claims prior to 1995. Results from the data collected during these previous investigations are described in Nunavut Assessment Report 083536.
